10th -12th August 2018. We came as a birthday present for my 22nd. Jo and Wayne were so welcoming and the cottage was clean and lovely. We would recommend as we had a perfect weekend away. Thank you love Sophie and Jamie. xx 7th-10th August 2018. Returning for our second year as it’s lovely place to explore the lakes. Jo and Wayne were away and the couple standing in for them, Les and Sue, were lovely and very helpful. Hot tub was great as expected. Hopefully see you again next year. much love Diane, Michael 7 Alfie xx 23rd July 2018 for 6 nights. Lovely last minute break. great local walks and handy for both coast and lakes. Loved it!!! Willow (the spaniel) too 27th-29th July 2018 Relaxing and quiet weekend away. The stables cottages are cosy and warm as the weather took a turn for the worst. Hired bikes in Keswick and cycled around Derwent water, highly recommended. A relaxing session in the hot tub after was much needed. Thank you Wayne and Jo x 23rd-26th July 2018 Our first visit ti the Lake District and enjoyed it very much. Buttermere lake was fabulous. Two lovely pubs we would recommend a visit. The cottage is very nice in lovely grounds. Visited Keswick and Penrith which were very nice towns. Fri 20th July – Mon 23rd July 2018. Lovely quiet cottage which is just what we wanted for our break. Didn’t get to use the hot tub but maybe next time. Lovely day out at St Bees and Whitehaven. Food great at both Bar’n’Bistro and Masons Arms. Thank you 🙂 Been a pleasure to stay in such a nice little cottage, it had everything that we needed. The facilities are excellent and the hot tub is a must. We would definitely recommend and will be sure to return ourselves. 13th-15th July 2018 ”This could cost us a small fortune as we now NEED a hot tub, with a beck and birds and……..” Ideal place for exploring, Jo and Wayne have been fabulous hosts with perfect touches like letting us park in the barn to keep the car cool for the dogs. Simply can’t fault this place. We will be back. 9th – 12th July 2018. First time here and loved every minute. We have 2 boys (Chih’s) and they loved their walks. Everything was perfect for a few days away. Will definitely return and recommend. Thank you Wayne and Jo. xxx Had a wonderful time. Went to Allonby beach, just 10 min’s away, great walks with Oreo and lovely Fish + Chips. Went to Buttermere, wonderful walks and then to Cockermouth- lovely town. Keswick is lovely too and had fab walks around Derwent water- shopping great for us Ladies. Lovely meal at Mason’s arms, Nadine and Mike are lovely hosts. Thank you Wayne & Jo…….Will be back. 6th-8th July 2018 Came here for my 30th and it’s been lovely, so peaceful and relaxing! Went to the Bar’n’bistro for food that was very nice and we would recommend. This was our first visit to Ellen Hall and we have loved every minute of it. Now time to get back to all the hustle and bustle at home. Thank you for having us. Kayleigh and Joe 29 June – 6 July 2018. Fantastic weather every single day. Cottage lovely as always, feels like coming home. Enjoyed the gardens……bird heaven! Even saw a Heron. Ellen Hall is my little heaven- so peaceful and relaxing. Until next time…….x 29th June – 6th July 2018. Must be our 8th year at Ellen Hall, always a joy. Love the grounds, as you know we make good use time of our time here. We brought along our new addition to the family- our echo, only 11 month old Roti. She has had a wonderful time too! Hope to see you in 2019. 30th March-6th April (7 nights) A delightful stay in this lovely cottage. The location is perfect fro exploring both the lakes and the coast. Would highly recommend a trip to the lakes distillery and a meal at the barn bistro down the road- great value! The hot tub was a wonderful addition, very relaxing. Wayne and Jo were great hosts and incredibly helpful before and during our stay and we can’t thank them enough for making this trip truly memorable. We would definitely love to come back. 02/04/18-06/04/18 What a lovely place. Perfect in every way, will definitely come back gain. Great walks for us and the dog. Hot tub was brilliant after long walks. Thank you Jo and Wayne for a lovely time. Great few days in Parlour cottage. It has everything that you need and a lovely log burner for cosy nights. Great walk to the masons Arms and Barn Bistro for amazing food. Days out a plenty with Aira force a favourite and the Jennings Brewery tour. Thank you for an amazing time, we will definitely be back. x 30th March- 2nd April 2018 We had a very relaxing weekend, just what the doctor ordered. Hayloft cottage was warm, cosy and just the right size. Both pubs in the village are welcoming. Wayne and Jo gave us a warm welcome and the chocolate bunnies were a lovely touch. Thanks you. 26th – 30th March 2018 We drove four hours to get here and it was worth every mile. the cottage was brilliant, nice and clean and comfortable. Jo and Wayne were very nice and helpful and told us places that we could visit. The hot tub was awesome and area very chilling and pleasant. it was drakes first holiday and he enjoyed every minute. We are already planning our next trip. 26th-30th March 2018 We’ve had a lovely time in such a lovely place; a great way to spend our Easter. The cottage was perfect and we’ll definitely be telling everyone to visit. Thank you so much Wayne and Jo 26th-29th March 2018 A lovely short spring break at Stables. The hot tub was very enjoyable. Both pubs in the village are very welcoming and the food is good too. The Stables cottages are very, clean and warm. Does what it says on the tin ‘Cottages made for two’. Would recommend to friends. 19/3/18. 3 nights. Beautiful cottage, lovely hosts and peaceful location. Didn’t get to see everyting we wanted, so I guess we will just have to come back!! 🙂 16th March 2018- 2 nights. Enjoyed a relaxing weekend break in stunning surroundings. Stables 4 is clean, cosy and comfortable with everything you need for a short break. Thanks to Wayne and Jo for making us so welcome and recommending a visit to Buttermere. To top it all off we had excellent food at the Barn Bistro. We are looking forward to our next visit. 15th-17th March 2018 We had a lovely time, the cottage is beautiful and the hot tub was great. We had a lovely meal at Barn Bistro, which we would really recommend. Keswick is easily reachable too. What a fabulous time we’ve had! Beautiful, peaceful cottage (fire and hot tub made it extra special) Loved walking and exploring all the beauty of the lakes. Only wish that we could stay longer. 6th-9th March 2018 Beautiful relaxing 4 day break. The hot tub was great and the cottage was really nice. We went to Buttermere and Keswick, lovely walk around the lakes. Had a good time all round. We will be back, thank you Jo and Wayne. 6th – 8th March 2018. Wow, what a lovely and peaceful place to stay. Amazing cottage and hot tub. Visited some lovely places, takes your breath away. Two very friendly pubs in the village- with great food. Highly recommend, we will definitely return. Thank you for a lovely stay. 2nd-4th march 2018. Beautiful getaway for the weekend in this lovely cottage, even better than expected. Thanks. 19th-21st February 2018 2 nights lovely, relaxing and peaceful break in hayloft cottage, just the right size for us two and the dog. Well equipped, clean and tidy. we were lovely and warm at all tines. Hot tub is fantastic. Thank you for a great stay. 16th-18th February 2018. Everything was enjoyable. from the cottage, to the beach, the walks and pubs. Highly recommended, we will return. 17th-20th February 2018 3 nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights stay here at Ellen hall, what a lovely quiet and relaxing place, just what we needed after our busy life back home. Cosy cottage, great location. Recommend the hot tub. Lovely first wedding anniversary. Thank you Jo and Wayne. 16th-18th February 2018, 2 nights. A wonderful surprise break planned by the hubby. The cottage is amazing, we had the most relaxing time we have had in ages. Location and area is beautiful. we would recommend the barn bistro to anyone , the meal was excellent. The weekend was topped off by a season in the hot tub. Thank you Jo and Wayne, we will most definitely be back xx 12th-16th February 2018. Beautiful cottage in a peaceful location. Buttermere lake and Wasdale both stunning and worth a visit. Fantastic trip over to Windermere for our anniversary topped off with a relaxing evening in the hot tub. Would highly recommend a dip or two. Thanks Jo and Wayne. 10th-12th February 2018 2 nights (not long enough) 5*+ Cite, cosy, quaint cottage. Visited for my birthday weekend. Such a beautiful place. Perfect atmosphere and surroundings. The hot tub was amazing especially with the sound of the wind chimes and the stream. We visited the Bar’n’bistro, delicious food, such a welcoming community. Amazing and beautiful at Ellen hall. Would come back. 3rd-6th February 2018 What a beautiful place! Thanks Wayne and Jo 3rd-5th February 2018. We had a lovely stay at the Stables Cottage. It was really cosy and warm. The hot tub was brilliant- we will recommend to our friends. Thank you. 2nd-5th February 2018 We had a lovely stay in this cosy cottage. Jo and Wayne are so friendly and helpful, recommending us to go to Buttermere which was a beautiful walk. The hot tub was nice and relaxing after a day walking. We would recommend Bar n Bistro for a great home made meal. We will definitely be back. Thank you. 19th-21st January 2018 A thoroughly enjoyable weekend break- we could quite happily live hear! The dogs had a great time and we were all made very welcome. Buttermere is a must-the views are fantastic! Very cosy cottage, just wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you. 19th-22nd January 2018 Our second visit to Ellen Hall for a nice relaxing break in hayloft. The cottage was peaceful and relaxing. Great cottages in a lovely area. fab pub up the road too, food well worth the money! We will certainly be back. 4th-7th January 2018 Lovely cottage in a beautiful location, really enjoyed our relaxing weekend here. Would recommend Ennerdale water if you want a long walk. Hope to be back soon. Rose and Niall x 12th-14th January 2018 Absolutely loved the cottage and hot tub, Wayne and Jo went above and beyond to get the room ready with extra surprises. The Masons Arms was a lovely pub, only a 10 minute walk away. Couldn’t recommend this place enough and will deffo be coming back. Overall five stars from us. 12th-14th January 2018 We had a lovely relaxing break celebrating a year being engaged. Would recommend the Mason’s arms, sea food basket was lovely. We enjoyed a walk by Bassenthwaite and a trip to Maryport. Hot tub on our last night was great, loved the sound of the river in the back ground. We had a brilliant time, we will be back and will be recommending to family and friends. Thank you. 12th-15th January 2018 Last minute booking for our birthdays plus second honeymoon. Lovely place, cosy cottage had a great time, plenty to do. Spa hot tub was fantastic. We will be back. 06/01/18 – 11/01/18 5 nights. Just brilliant! Came here for a peaceful getaway with Hector after a busy few months and it has been idylic. Very cosy and warm, even in -2 degrees C!…….We enjoyed the hot tub on the last night with the river bubbling away and the misty air! We will be back!!!
