Great wee cottage and good base. Lovely surroundings and other guests really friendly. Jo very sociable, will definitely return. 7th -12 Sept’ 2020. We have enjoyed our stay at Parlour. This smaller cottage was nice and cosy. The shower gets really hot, just what you need after a walk. We will, of course, be back again. 28th August 2020. 5 nights. We had a really lovely stay. The cottage is beautiful and a lovely place to have a break away. Our dog loved it too, so many places to go for walks and the local pub is amazing. Definitely worth the money and will be coming back 🙂 Thank you. 14th July – 20th July 2020. We have loved our stay in Gilcrux. The locals are very friendly and the Mason’s Arms welcomed us like part of the community. The cottage is beautiful and we loved our stay. Brody loved it too 🐾 so thank you. We will definitely recommend and come back. I bet it’s lovely in the winter. 20/07/2020. Pleasant stay, very idyllic setting. All in all a very enjoyable weekend. Would highly recommend. 12/7/2020. We have really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage was lovely and fitted our needs perfectly. The people were warm and welcoming throughout the stay. Great surrounding area, by being right in the middle of the coast and the Lakes. It made the perfect weekend! 9 – 11th July 2020. Just what we needed! Weather wasn’t wonderful but didn’t put a damper on it at all. Accommodation was lovely & cosy & we were made to feel welcome. Had a lovely meal at the Masons Arms & looking forward to coming back. Hot tub was amazing. 6th – 8th March 2020. We both had a great time! Cottage is very comfortable and the fire is perfect for this time of year. Finding somewhere we could take our dog and enjoy nature was what we were looking for and this cottage and area are perfect for that! Many thanks and……we will be back! 🙂 23 Feb’ 2020. 3 night stay. Thank you for a lovely peaceful stay away. Great route recommendations and very friendly. Hot tub was amazing, topped off with relaxing surrounds and stream. Lovely area, quiet but close enough to plenty of walks/days out……lovely welcoming owners, very accommodating and the hot tub was an extra bonus!. We have returned to spend our 2nd Wedding Anniversary here and once again had an absolutely wonderful stay. ♥ The cottage is cosy and the hot tub- extremely relaxing!! It was perfectly equipt for our needs and we felt very at home here. Thank you Wayne for the recommendation of Buttermere lake- our dog loved it! Superb hosts, nothing too much trouble. I don’t think Bruno wanted to leave. Lots of walks and places to visit. 10/10……..Just a great place to chill down. First time here and the cottage is cute and warm. 10% off at the Masons Arms every time you visit and the food is outstanding. We have had a wonderful stay. We were greeted as soon as we arrived and was given a lot of useful information. The recommended pubs were amazing!…..More than we expected, it was perfect! 1st – 3rd January 2020 We have had a great stay here and we were made to feel so welcome by Jo. We will definitely be back. Thanks you. 30th December 2019 – 2nd January 2020 Had a lovely time in the cottage. So relaxing and peaceful, just what we were both looking for. We will definitely return. Everyone in the area is so friendly. 28th Dec- 1st Jan 2020. A stay at Ellen hall is hard to beat. It really is an exceptional retreat. Away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life- you can feel the pressures and stresses of life…..just floating away, via the hot tub or a jaunt to the Barn Bistro or Mason’s Arms pub. there, enjoy great food and cheerful banter, it’s true (and a bonus is that their dog friendly too). Then return to Ellen Hall (a true gem it has to be said. To put feet up and chill out sharing a bottle of red. So thank you to the flowers, for their kind welcome and cheer. and we wish you all the best for a happy new year x 20th – 30th December 2019. Our second visit, love it. Wayne & Jo are wonderful, cannot do enough for you. Cottage is perfect. Walks and scenery amazing, will definitely be back for another visit. 20 Dec – 27 Dec 2019. Will be back soon 🙂 Have a great New Year. 12th-15th December 2019. We came for the peace and quiet prior to the Christmas rush and enjoyed it here. The Solway firth/estuary and bird watching then the wind seas of Allonby added to the fun (we had never been there before) Many thanks from us both and Dave 13th=15th December 2019. So nice to have a lovely cottage like this to unwind in by the fire and the hot tub was just lovely. Went to the Masons Arms on our first night and had a great meal…… We will be recommending to family and friends. Thank you 🙂 An amazing place to stay, well equipped cosy cottage. Thorn and Kayden, our 2 dogs enjoyed all the walks in and around the area. Loved the beach, endless hours collecting sea glass. Joe and Wayne both very friendly and helpful. Fantastic time.
