17th – 21st May ’15. The first of our cottage testimonials after eight stays! High time we gave the cottages the review it deserves as it is always such a beautiful place to stay. We love the Lake Distict and cannot imagine a year passing without visiting. Thank you Wayne and Jo for your superb hospitality as ever and see you soon! xxx Beautiful, relaxing weekend. Lovely and peaceful, just the break we needed. Highly recommend th Barn & Bistro. Thank you to Wayne & Jo for being excellent hosts. 8.5.15 – 12.5.15. My ideal accommodaton- loved the 1st floor lounge with a view! Almost didn’t want to go out! Also just what we wanted- a change from ‘flat’ Norfolk! Although being a ‘Geordie’ I love the Norfolk broads too! We felt priveledged to be here with all the young lambs about & the bluebells at Rannerdale made a delightful walk……..would love to return! Thank you. 7th-11th May 2015. A beautiful, scenic cottage, the perfect place for us to celebrate our first wedding anniverary. Barney our dog enjoyed his stay and like us didn’t want to go home. Thank you for making us so welcome!! 7 – 9th May 2015. Hubbie & I starting to go away now the kids are in uni, so this was our first good choice by me 🙂 Host suggested going to Buttermere- do go, it’s outstanding (and the weather held off). Perfect break for us. 2-5 May. It was lovely to stay in such a homely relaxing cottage, in a beautiful part of the Lake District. We will definately come back! 26th April – 3rd May 2015. We had a lovely week exploring the beautiful Lakes. I love the whole area and the relaxing vibe away from our other lives. We will be back 🙂 Couldn’t find a more honest and helpful couple who know exactly what’s required. The idyllic setting will de-stress the most over worked, leaving you reluctant to get back in the car to leave…… Hot tub is a must!! FIVE STAR. Thank you. 24th April-1st May. 7 nights. We came for Jim’s 50th birthday, what a beautiful setting. This allowed us to have a very relaxing break, the hot tub was amazing when there was thunder, lightning and hailstones. We would highly recommend to anyone. 24th-26th April. (Just Married!). Such a beautiful place….Quiet and peaceful, we had an amazing wedding in Scotland on St Marys Loch, traveled to the cottage and couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay! Thank you so much for making our wedding so memorable! 24th-26th April ’15. Beautiful place. Very welcoming and relaxing, Hot Tub recommended. Masons Arms have amazing food. Loved our mini-moon. Thanks for everything. Booked a last minute offer off Facbook and so glad we did!!! Soon as we arrived I knew we’d love it here, gorgeous surroundings. I will be recommending it to all my friends. Two dog friendly pubs in the village with beer gardens a short walk away……Will definately come back, love it! Thank you x 18-20th April 2015. So peaceful and tranquil. The hot tub is spectacularly relaxing! Fantastic surroundings, scenic route absolutely great to get here. Great place to get away to, would love to come back another time. Thanks Jo & Wayne. 6th – 11th April. A fab time was had by all. Will def’ be back. xxxx 6th-10th April 2015. 1st visit, we loved it here. The cottage was lovely, it was a very peaceful and relaxing place to stay. The hot tub was amazing. Went to the Masons Arms for tea, the pub was lovely, food was all homemade and very enjoyable. 3rd April – 6th April. We had a lovely break here, it is a warm and cosy cottage with peaceful surroundings. Nice area to walk & finish of at the “Bar n Bistro” a few minutes away. The hot tub was fab and we will no doubt be returning. Thanks to Jo & Wayne- lovely hosts. 3/4/15-6/4/15. Very quiet & peaceful place to stay, you can’t fault anything about it, apart from the stay not being long enough. Would love to live somewhere like this (one can dream). Would love to come again and try the hot tub. Thank you so much Wayne & Jo and for the hot cross buns. xxx 2nd April-6th April ’15. A beautiful relaxing cottage, perfect for our Easter break. The hot tub and log burner were nice romantic touches and enabled us to retreat here from our city lives. Thank you for your warm welcome. 28th – 31st March. Romantic cottage, hot tub enhances the experience. A beautiful place to visit and enjoy the weekend. Lovely service, will definately recommend anyone and a definate come back. Thank you. 28th-30th March 2015. Came as birthday treat for me (Tracey). We don’t live far away, but it really felt that we could have been absolutely anywhere. All we wanted was a quiet relaxed getaway. Somewhere to escape the madness of everyday life. We’ve had a wonderful time, thank you. So relaxed- nice to spend some quality time together!! xxx Sunday 22nd – Saturday 28th March. First time to the Lakes, loved it. Cottage very relaxing. Had a day at Buttermere on recommendation, well worth it. Steak and Stilton pie at the Masons Arms best ever. Thank you. 11th – 15th March 2015. We have been coming to the Lake District for 20 years, lovely cottage, lovely setting. Shame didn’t make the Hot Tub, but there will be a next time. Thank you. 8th – 14th March 2015. As relaxing as ever. We were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed the peace & quiet. 1st – 5th March 2015. Our second visit! Was as relaxing and enjoyable as the the first. Had some lovely walks around Buttermere and had a drive to Scotland. Thank you Wayne and Jo for all your help. We will be back soon. xx Had a lovely stay at Hayloft, really cosy and welcoming. Didn’t get to meet Wayne but Jo is lovely and very accommodating. Hopefully not our last time visiting! And the Hot Tub was a bonus! 14th February 2015, Valentines Day! Thank you so much for our wonderful stay. Perfect sunny weather for February, perfect stay, perfect time! Darren proposed here in the cottage, with fresh rose petals and candles. Thank you again. A lovely relaxing weekend! Cottage comfortable and as usual, spotless. I think we have stayed in every one of them now and are never disappointed. Excellent meal in the Bar’n’Bistro. Thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub! Really enjoyed our stay! Lovely setting, very relaxing and the Hot Tub is amazing!!! Thank you x Relaxing time. We had a wonderful 3 days in this beautiful cottage, had a lovely meal at Barn Bistro and the most amazing time around the Lakes. Martin had the best Birthday ever. X What a lovely peaceful place. Lots of nice places to visit. The hot tub is a must & the fire is really cosy. Next time we will definately bring our dog, he would love it. Thanks. Marty’s first holiday- he absolutely loved it and so did we, a trip to Buttermere, Windermere and down to the beach. We made good use of our visit up to Dykes Cottage. Loved being able to turn the bath into a steam closet and the Hot Tub was a perfect treat after a long day!! 🙂 The fire went down a dream with all three of us! Very much enjoyed our stay!! Back for our 2nd visit to Ellen Hall, what can I say, had a wonderful weeks holiday- cottage fab, steam room fab, Hot Tub double fab 🙂 Very peaceful and relaxing, loved every minute of our stay, don’t want to leave! We enjoyed our stay at Ellen Hall- with family up the road in Gilcrux & Cockermouth, this was a nice base for us. It is lovely and peaceful and it gets nice and cosy in the upstairs room when the fire is on. The box of chocolates and card to welcome us was a really nice touch- thank you! Second visit for Bups’ birthday as he insisted on coming to Ellen Hall only! Thoroughly enjoyed our 2nd visit. Cosy log fire & kitchen. Wayne & Jo very helpful as always. We did the Friar’s Crag & Castlehead walk, which was great & had gorgeous views. Lovely hot tub & steam shower! A nice relaxing break- just what we needed! Came here for our Honeymoon and really enjoyed our stay. Can’t wait to return in the summer. # Hot Tub time machine xxx Came for a 49th Birthday, lovely & relaxing, hot tub fab. Cottages are in a great location, will come again. The pooches loved it after long walks. The cottage was everthing we were looking for. Clean, welcoming atmosphere, very quiet & peaceful & the perfect place to relax. Would also recommend the Masons Arms which is just up the road for a meal. Their food was inexpensive and absolutley outstanding. 31st- 3rd Oct. Very quiet, peaceful and homely. Perfect place to spend quality time with loved ones. Very nice trip to the beach, very different from the noise in the city. Would certainly recommend to friends and family and will return….
