The Lake District National Park is in the North West corner of England, entirely in the county of Cumbria. The Park is the largest in England and the second largest of all National Parks in Britain. With mountains, valleys, villages, towns, coastline and of course lakes!

Nearly 16 million people visit the the Lake District National Park each year, most enjoy the stunning scenery and recharge with the peace and serenity. With more than 3,500 kilometres of rights of way, you can walk, cycle and ride around the beautiful Lake District countryside to your heart’s content. Many of course get on or in the water and never forget the inspiring experience.

Our Lake District cottages are ideal for couples who want to experience the great outdoors as a romantic getaway and are positioned perfectly for access to many attractions.

The National Trust in the Lake District

The first National Trust Act was passed by Parliament in 1907, and their constitution has been updated and revised since to ensure they are well governed and remain true to the cause.

The National Trust has cared for the iconic lake district mountains, fells, and farms for over 100 years. Each valley has a unique character – whether remote or bustling – there’s something to inspire every nature lover, adrenalin seeker, literary maestro or archaeology buff… and where better to do it than one of our perfectly situated cottages for two!

You’ll discover fine varied walking country around Buttermere and Lake Windermere, at the heart of the Lake District, but there are other beautiful treasures to find around other lakes. Hire a boat on Derwent Water and take to the lake itself, or use the network of footpaths to reach the best high-level views. There are lots of options for places to visit, including Ambleside Roman Fort and Troutbeck Park, which was once owned by Beatrix Potter.
