Spring Breaks 2022
Put a spring in Your Step – Spring breaks from March.
When winter turns to spring it can seem as if the annual holiday is still a long way off. If you are suffering from cold weather fatigue or you just want to get away from it all for a few days, then why not consider one of our short spring breaks in a country cottage? You might even find a great deal for midweek 3/4 night breaks in March or April 2022.
The Lake District comes into its own at springtime. With stunning scenery ranging from majestic lakes to magnificent mountains and glorious rolling vales, Cumbria and the Lake District is a wonderful place to spend a few days just relaxing or exploring the historic surrounds from the comfort of a cottage made for two.
Just for Two
Couples could enjoy a romantic break in Wordsworth country, Rydal Mount, which lies between Ambleside and Grasmere. Or visit Derwent Water, amongst the most magnificent of the area’s lakes at Keswick. Here you are surrounded by lovely woodlands and fells and and inspiring lake views. Hire a boat or take a cruise to appreciate the stunning beauty of the surroundings. A walk around Buttermere is truly rewarding and always memorable- start at a pub and end at a pub, then finish the day in our hot tub cabin for two.
Many of our cottages for two are available with log fires, use of a hot tub and four-poster beds for a truly romantic getaway. What could be better after a day’s hiking or sight-seeing to come back to a roaring log fire? All cottages come equipped with TV and DVD player so that if you don’t wish to go out after a long day, or the weather is a little inclement, you can stay indoors and relax. Wi-Fi is included in all prices too.
Bring the Dog on your Spring Break
Well-behaved dogs are most welcome in some of our cottages and you will find great walks directly from the cottage door and the Solway Coast just a few minutes drive. Click on our cottages link below for a full list of dog-friendly cottages. Always remember though to keep your dog on a lead when walking through the countryside to avoid disturbing wildlife or livestock, which may have young with them in the spring months.
💡 Here’s some paws for thought: Keswick was voted the UKs’ best dog friendly town in 2015 by the Kennel Club
Bluebells at Rannerdale
No break in the Lake District is complete without seeing the celebrated Rannerdale Bluebells in May. The area is reached via Crummock Water and there are several places to park before you can take a short circular walk around Rannerdale. We guarantee the sight of the masses of swaying bluebells on the hills will take your breath away.
Cumbria and the Lakes are not just about glorious vistas, stunning though they are! There are lots of things to do, from kite surfing at Allonby to country pubs and eating establishments like the Bar ‘n’ Bistro and the Masons Arms at Gilcrux, as well as shops and tourist attractions, so if you’re looking for a spring getaway that that has it all, a break in the Lakes could be just the tonic you need!
We hope to welcome you to a relaxing little break soon. Take a look at one of our cottages for two here- Romantic Cottages For Two
